The Topeka Performing Arts Center boasts a storied history in Topeka, Kansas. Originally opened as the Municipal Auditorium in 1940, it has hosted a diverse range of events, from sporting events and circuses to trade shows and Broadway productions. Its stage has seen performances by legends like Count Basie, Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole, and Imogene Coca. Beyond the performing arts, the venue’s Lower-Level houses Hill’s Festival Hall, offering 6,500 square feet of usable space for banquets and meetings.
The newly renovated Banquet Room, formerly known as Hill’s Festival Hall, offers an elegant, carpeted venue, is a popular choice for banquets, wedding receptions, school dances, performances, business meetings, and trade shows. The elegance of the mirrored columns makes it difficult to imagine that the once stark concrete columns were used to tether the circus elephants in days gone by! It can accommodate 350 to 400 guests in a banquet setting, 120 in a classroom setting, and 250 in a theater-style arrangement. The hall offers customized reception and ceremony options, professional catering services, and accommodations for 12 to 400 guests. Additionally, it provides equipment such as staging, a dance floor, a portable sound system, tables, and chairs with room rental.
