Steve Peters, a founding member of the CDT ownership team since 2010, serves as Treasurer for Chanhassen Dinner Theatres. With over 50 years of experience in live entertainment and venue management, Steve has been a key figure in the industry. As the Founder and CEO of VenuWorks, the nation’s only employee-owned venue management company, he has helped connect communities across the country through the arts. Under his leadership, VenuWorks oversees thousands of events annually, bringing Broadway productions to smaller markets.
An Iowa native, Steve is also an accomplished Broadway producer. He earned a 2025 Drama League nomination for the revival of Once Upon A Mattress and previously received a Drama League Award and a Tony nomination for the 2015 revival of You Can't Take It With You. He is co-producing the musical Get Happy, set to debut on Broadway in 2026. Beyond Broadway, Steve has been involved in projects such as restoring the historic Ingersoll Theater in Des Moines. His career reflects a deep commitment to fostering cultural experiences that unite communities.
