Scott Smith brings more than 20 years of hands-on venue management experience to his role as Interim Director for the RiverCenter.  A trusted leader in operations, production, and venue safety, Scott also serves as National Director for VenuWorks, where he supports day-to-day operational excellence across the company’s portfolio.

Before joining VenuWorks, Scott served as Director of Operations at the Swiftel Center, where he helped lead the team to national recognition for outstanding event execution. Throughout his career, he has managed a wide range of events, including concerts, conventions, sporting events, and community gatherings, with a consistent focus on creating safe, efficient, and welcoming experiences for guests, clients, and partners.

Scott is especially passionate about advancing safety and operational best practices in public assembly venues. He has developed thoughtful protocols that protect guests, support staff, and strengthen confidence among community stakeholders. His commitment to professional development is reflected in his certifications and active involvement with the International Association of Venue Managers.

Known for his collaborative leadership style, Scott is dedicated to building strong teams, strengthening partnerships, and helping venues serve as centers for recreation, culture, education, and economic growth. His experience and steady leadership will support the RiverCenter as it continues to serve the Davenport community and the greater Quad Cities region.
