VENUWORKS NAMES DANIEL KAYS AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF TPAC

TOPEKA, KS (30 September, 2024) – Steve Peters, CEO of VenuWorks, proudly announces the appointment of Daniel Kays as the new Executive Director of the Topeka Performing Arts Center (TPAC). Daniel will assume his new role on October 7, 2024. Steve Peters stated, "We are thrilled to welcome Daniel Kays to lead TPAC’s dedicated team. With his proven expertise in executive venue management, marketing, booking, and operations, we are confident he will be a transformative leader, driving TPAC and the Topeka community toward new creative heights."

Daniel Kays, known for his dynamic leadership, brings a wealth of experience to TPAC, having successfully led the Bowlus Performing Arts Theatre for five seasons. His tenure at Bowlus was marked by resilience and innovation, notably during the COVID-19 pandemic, when he ensured the continuation of live concerts while many other venues were silent. Kays' visionary leadership transformed Bowlus into a beacon of hope and a leading destination for live performances in Southeast Kansas, setting the stage for its most successful season yet.

Expressing his enthusiasm for his new role, Daniel Kays said, “My family and I are looking forward to moving into this incredible community and absorbing the rich history of Topeka. I’m honored to be chosen to lead TPAC and to join the incredible team that is in place. With the major campaign of GO TOPEKA and the downtown revitalization efforts, there is an emphasis on bringing the focus back to the center and revitalizing the passion, nourishing the heart, so that all of Topeka is stronger than ever. It is the Capitol of our great State. So now is the time to have TPAC shine brighter than ever and once again be a social beacon focusing on the heart of Topeka.”

The TPAC Board Chair Shane Grau added, "The TPAC board is excited to announce our newest addition to our team in Daniel Kays! He brings a 3-decade list of experience with programming and running a venue to help provide the support we need here in Topeka. He will be a great addition to the experienced team in place to provide additional shows and opportunities to the venue. We look forward to continued growth at TPAC and our current renovations will help with an updated feel. Welcome Dan and we are excited to get you started!”

Under Daniel Kays' leadership, TPAC is poised for a new era of growth and innovation, with the entire team eagerly supporting his mission to enrich Topeka's cultural offerings.
