River of Fire Returns to Light Up Columbia Park This 4th of July

One of the Tri-Cities’ brightest summer traditions, River of Fire presented by ICCU, returns to Columbia Park this Independence Day with more family fun, live music, food, and fireworks. This free community celebration is made possible through the partnership between the City of Kennewick and VenuWorks, operator of the Three Rivers Campus.

Event Details: Festivities kick off at 2:00 p.m. with the opening of the Kids Zone, offering plenty of activities for children of all ages. Local food trucks will be on site throughout the day with delicious bites and cool treats. Two live entertainment stages will showcase an exciting lineup of Country, Classic Rock, and Latin bands from 2:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.

At 10:05 p.m., the night sky will come alive with a spectacular fireworks showcase launched over the Columbia River from a barge, proudly sponsored by Benton PUD.

“River of Fire is a celebration that brings our community together. We’re proud to offer a safe, free, and family-friendly way for people of all ages to make memories and celebrate Independence Day in Columbia Park,” said Sybil Young, Director of Sales & Marketing. “We invite everyone to grab their blankets, bring the whole family, and join us!”

Street Closures & Parking: To ensure a safe and smooth event, please note the following road closures:

  • Columbia Park Trail between the Veteran’s Memorial roundabout and the East Boat Launch will be closed to vehicles from 6 a.m. on July 4 through 12 a.m. on July 5.
  • There will be no west-end access from Edison starting at 12 p.m. on July 4 through 12 a.m. on July 5.
  • All vehicle access into the park will close at 9 p.m.

Guests visiting the Columbia Park Golf Tri-Plex and Foodies at the Landing should enter through the Highway 240 entrance.

ADA parking is available in the 20 Acres lot; please use the Highway 240 entrance for access. General event parking is in the 20 Acres and adjacent grass areas, with staff on-site to direct traffic throughout the day.

Sponsors: River of Fire 2025 is presented by ICCU and generously sponsored by Benton PUD, Legends Casino, Focal Point, and Horse Heaven Clean Energy Center.
